Marissa Meyer is a New York Times-bestselling author and five-time NaNo champion. The first three books in her Lunar Chronicles series (Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress) all began life as NaNoWriMo novels. (In fact, she drafted all three during November of 2008, in an attempt to win a walk-on role in Star Trek. It’s kind of a long story.) In addition to her love of writing, she’s an avid reader, a neurotic organizer, and a connoisseur of cake. She lives in Tacoma, Washington, with her husband and three cats.
